WE NEED YOU (the world needs you)

The Shelf Help mission is to connect as many people as possible with books, ideas and experts that will inspire them to look at themselves in different, more positive ways and to help them grow into the best versions of themselves.

And then to connect these people with each other.

And to do that we are building an army of inspired and inspiring local hosts who live all around the world, but who all believe in our mission and the power of self-help.

So if you love reading and self-help and are interested in inspiring people in your area to do the same we want to hear from you.

As a Shelf Help host you will be joining - and helping us to build - a conscious, kind and curious community. We can’t guarantee you riches (this is a voluntary position) but we CAN guarantee you a beautiful sense of belonging, the opportunity to develop yourself spiritually, mentally and emotionally, and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. Another popular side effect is a new group of brilliant friends, online and offline, and the perfect excuse to spend more time reading!

Anybody can start a book club, but being a Shelf Help book club host requires a certain kind of something, as well as a small level of commitment, so to make sure that we are a good fit with each other please complete the application form below and one of the Shelf Help team will get back to you soon to discuss.

From July 2019 we have introducing new Host Starter Kits (£10 plus P&P to cover merchandise costs). The Kit includes: branded flyers to promote your book club locally, branded postcards and bookmarks to give out to your first members and - very important! - a limited edition Shelf Help tote bag to carry all your books (payment to be taken once an application has been approved).

Fusing the best elements of book clubs (sociability, accountability opportunities to learn) and support groups (connection, confidentiality, kindness) Shelf Help meetings are safe spaces for members to meet new people and to discuss the books and how the topics may affect their own lives.

They are a chance to be heard, to heal, grow, relate and learn. Or even just listen (often the most enlightening act of all).

Our digital and real-life meetups happen on the last Monday of the month, and we are currently looking for book lovers all over the world to host local meetups and help us grow.
