atlas of the heart

by Brené Brown

Our first BOTM for 2022 is the latest release from self-help guru and #1 New York Times best-selling author, Brené Brown: Atlas Of The Heart.

As a community we’ll be sharing insights and unpacking the 87 emotions and experiences that Brené says define what it means to be human, whilst also learning to forge lasting, meaningful connections with the people around us.

We’d love you to read along with us and we suggest you follow the Reading Schedule below and check-in either at one of our monthly Zoom #mondayclub book clubs (members) or weekly via social media (free!) as a way to help keep yourself accountable.

On this page you’ll find all the info you need to get started including a video intro to the book from our founder, the Club Reading Schedule and links to find out more about the author and the book.

So often, when we feel lost, adrift in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore. But that shore, that solid ground, is within us. The anchor we are searching for is connection, and it is internal. To form meaningful connections with others, we must first connect with ourselves, but to do either, we must first establish a common understanding of the language of emotion and human experience.
— Brené Brown

ABOUT THE BOOk

In Atlas of the Heart, Brené takes us on a journey through 87 of the emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human.

As she maps the necessary skills and lays out an actionable framework for meaningful connection, she gives us the language and tools to access a universe of new choices and second chances - a universe where we can share and steward the stories of our bravest and most heart-breaking moments with one another in a way that builds connection.

Brené says: "I want this to be an atlas for all of us, because I believe that, with an adventurous heart and the right maps, we can travel anywhere and never fear losing ourselves. Even when we have no idea where we are."
